Trevor thought about all the games he watched. He felt smart and ready.
The clock ticked down. It was almost time to go home.
Marcus had the ball. He ran and ran.
Trevor chased him. He ran and ran too.
They both wanted to win for their team.
The crowd cheered. "Go, go, go!"
Marcus threw the ball. It flew high in the sky.
Trevor jumped to catch it. He reached up, up, up.
The ball landed softly in a friend's hands. Everyone clapped.

They walked off the field with their teams. Everyone felt proud.
The big game was over, but they would play again soon.
As they left, Marcus and Trevor waved to each other.
"See you next time," they said.
The stadium lights turned off. The field was quiet.
Marcus and Trevor went home to rest. They would dream of the next big game.
In their beds, they thought about the fun day.
Marcus held his football close. Trevor wore his lucky socks to sleep.
They both smiled as they closed their eyes.
